Unlock All Stages
Choose "Adventure" from the main menu. When the stage select screen appears, press R1, R1, R2, R1; now you can choose from any stage.
Extra Lives
Start a game in Adventure mode, then press Start to pause. At the pause screen, press L1, L1, L2, L1; you'll hear a signal to confirm. Now you can increase the number of lives you have in reserve at any time by pressing Right on the D-pad at the "Pause" screen
